It’s rare to find New York Mets fans calling out Francisco Lindor for his performance. Lindor has been a fan favorite and has delivered for the team in crucial games. Yet, fans were unhappy with his performance upon his return.
Lindor and his wife Katia just celebrated the birth of their son, Koa Amani. The All-Star was predicted to hit a home run, but he settled for an RBI single. Lindor was 0-for-12 before his game against the Marlins. However, he committed two errors in the game, one in the second and one in the fourth.
Francisco Lindor’s teammate Juan Soto got on base in every game this season. Mets fans were not too pleased with his performance, especially since Soto is hitting right behind him. Here’s a look at some reactions from X.
“If he swings first pitch and rolls over a ball to SS/2B again i’m gonna rip my eyeballs out. You have Juan Soto behind you stop playing hero ball take a friggin pitch,” one fan wrote.

“Win one, lose one, win one, lose one. This is who they are for the most part. Until they go on a hot streak in June,” another fan replied.

“4 out of 5 games offense has been trash. Pitching has been the only good thing, go figure,” another fan replied.

Francisco Lindor Is Unhappy With His Performance Against the Marlins

In a postgame interview, Lindor mentioned he was unhappy with his performance against the Marlins. He said the Mets played a clean game, except for his two pitches.
“I felt we played a clean game except two pitches. My two ground balls. I take a lot of pride in there and it doesn’t feel good. I talked to Senga, and he said don’t worry about it, but it still kinda hurts. I wish I would have done better for Senga. He had a great game, it’s unfortunate that I didn’t finish the play for him. He executed today, all night long. Definitely should be better,” Francisco Lindor said.

Fans might be disappointed with Lindor, but he’s sure to get back on track soon. Lindor has been the driving force for the team in 2024. MLB fans can be brutal, especially if a player doesn’t perform. Recently, fans trolled Jurickson Profar for his 80-game suspension.
