Major League Baseball reinstated Pete Rose, making him eligible for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rose had a lifetime ban, but MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred stated that permanent ineligibility ends after an individual’s death.
Several fans were happy as they cheered the league on for its decision, and multiple MLB stars celebrated the same. Yankees skipper Aaron Boone was one among many who were happy for Rose to become Hall of Fame eligible.
However, a few are unhappy about the decision, like MLB analyst Chris Rose. He believes the legend should not be elected into the Hall of Fame.
“I hope it doesn’t happen and I hope he doesn’t get elected. The No. 1 person that kept Pete Rose out of baseball’s Hall of Fame was himself. 15 years it took him after he got banned for life to admit he bet on the game. And he only did it when he released a book so he could make some cash,” Rose said.
“Once he got caught, he was like the kid that couldn’t stop lying. There is a code of conduct clause. Even if you remove all the gambling, he was a despicable human being. I’m not saying take him out, I’m saying don’t let him in and have the highest honor,” Rose continued.

He further stated that Pete Rose was more interested in earning the sympathy of a baseball crowd. Rose also said that he loved him as a player, but he turned his back on the game.
