Francisco Lindor is having a great season with the New York Mets. The slugger is a fan favorite, and he’s stepped up for the team when they needed him the most. With more than 50 active shortstops in the league, Lindor is easily one of the best. Yet, comparing him with legendary Yankees star Derek Jeter is not something fans want to see.
MLB recently posted a comparison of Lindor and Jeter’s stats at age 31. While Lindor comes close to Jeter, and even surpasses him in some areas, there’s one thing he doesn’t have: A World Series title, whereas Jeter has five titles.
Francisco Lindor is a great player, but winning five World Series titles to beat Jeter is pretty hard. Fans were outraged over the Lindor-Jeter comparison as they took to social media to lash out at the league.

“As a Mets fan, this is totally disrespectful to Jeter. Let’s stop this and talk about it in 5+ years,” one fan wrote.

Francisco Lindor Aims For A Ring In Juan Soto Era

Lindor has one goal and must win a ring before he retires. The slugger has a better chance to win a title in the Juan Soto era. Soto is a great player, and with Pete Alonso on the team as well, the Mets have a great chance to make it to the World Series.
Lindor’s numbers are better than Juan Soto’s this season. The shortstop has nine home runs and 27 RBIs. He’s slugging .294/.360/.849 in 180 plate appearances. The Mets are the top of the NL East with a 28-17 record and are ranked at No. 2 in their Week 7 MLB rankings.
