On Sunday, Garrett Crochet had a narrow escape while facing the Minnesota Twins on the mound. The Red Sox pitcher had a scary incident when he took a comebacker that hit his nose during the fourth inning.
Despite taking a solid hit, Crochet stayed in the game and pitched against eight opponent hitters. Crochet pitched through the fifth inning and surrendered only one earned run in his outing. Sadly, the Red Sox lost against the Twins with a 5-4 final score. However, Garrett Crochet received huge praise for remaining in the game.

“I honestly thought his nose was gonna be in another zip code after that! Garrett Crochet is built different—staying in the game after that is straight-up savage. That’s the kind of grit you don’t see every day,” another fan replied.

Alex Cora Shares Positive Update On Garrett Crochet

Luckily, Crochet had no major injuries, and he seems to be perfectly fine. The Red Sox manager, Alex Cora, shared a positive update on the pitcher in a postgame interview.
“Crochet is okay, obviously grinded through the last inning, the Red Sox manager added. And the way we were lined up, it just made sense to take him out after 89 pitches, that comebacker happens, so we moved on to the next level, and we just weren’t able to finish it,” Cora said.
