It’s a disappointing day for Atlanta Braves fans and, worse still, for Jurickson Profar’s followers. The entire league and MLB fans were shocked to find that Profar had violated the PED policy. It came as a shock to many, but Padres fans were relieved by this latest news.
The league was forced to suspend Profar for 80 games, and he will miss the postseason. Profar can return to the field only on June 29, 2025. The Braves organization was disappointed with his actions since they will be responsible for $35,086,419.75 of his $42 million contract.
Jurickson Profar will also forfeit $5,806,440 for his ban due to his violation. As much as MLB fans are surprised by his actions, several reacted to social media. Here are some fan reactions from X.
“LMAOOOOO Tatis and Profar were kissing and juicing together,” one fan wrote.

“Or in other words it cost Profar $7 million to make another $35…that’s a pretty good return and the risk far outweighs the cost. But yet we wonder why players still “accidentally” take masking agents…I mean it’s pretty simple math,” another fan replied.

“Risk/Reward. Playing on a 1YR prove-it deal for $1M. Had breakout yr/signed 3/$42M deal. Won’t get paid for suspension. He’ll still get approx. $35M of this deal. Is it embarrassing, sure. But he got paid,” one fan chimed in.

Jurickson Profar Calls It The Most Difficult Day In His Career

Profar admitted that he consumed performance-enhancing drugs to bolster his game. The former Padres star said it was the most difficult day in his career. Profar apologized to the Braves organization and the fans. He also said that he gladly accepts MLB’s decision.
“This is especially painful for me because anyone who knows me and has seen me play knows I am deeply passionate about the game. There is nothing I love more than competing with my teammates and being a fan favorite. I want to apologize to the entire Braves organization, my teammates, and the fans,” Jurickson Profar said.
Braves manager Brian Snitker said he spoke to Jurickson Profar and was upset about how things turned out. Profar mentioned that he never willingly took any banned substance.
“I have been tested my entire career, including eight times last season alone, and have never tested positive. I would never willingly take a banned substance, but I take full responsibility and accept MLB’s decision,” Profar said via AP News.
The next three months will be tough for Profar since he has to stay out. He will need to rebuild his reputation once he gets back in the game.
