Giancarlo Stanton’s injury came as a huge disappointment for Yankees fans. The fan-favorite designated hitter was out due to severe elbow pain. While fans are waiting for positive news upon his return, it turns out that they need to wait a little longer.
Stanton is not only dealing with elbow pain. The slugger is also dealing with a chronic calf issue. That said, his return timeline could be extended. The Yankees have a tough situation, and without Stanton, the playoffs will be a hard challenge.
Recently, MLB insider Jon Heyman opened up on the Yankees’ season. Heyman thinks they had one of the worst offseason, and Giancarlo Stanton could be out for the year.
You can’t make this shit up man lol it’s not funny but my god https://t.co/1g4AbaGZ2g

“They’re in a very difficult spot. They came in as the American League favorite, but I don’t see them that way now. Fortunately, that’s the reality of the situation. I don’t think many people probably do. We also have Stanton, who has no timetable. Out for the year is still on the table for Stanton at this point. I mean, this is as bad as spring as you can have,” Heyman said.
Heyman might be correct since things have gone worse for Stanton and the Yankees. Gerrit Cole is sidelined for the rest of the season. Stanton might not get back to the place until the end of the season.

Rumors Suggest Giancarlo Stanton Could Return Before Memorial Day

Stanton might not necessarily undergo surgery. The slugger is currently taking multiple platelet-rich plasma injections. It’s hard to give a timeline for his return, but rumors state that he could return before Memorial Day.
Giancarlo Stanton himself mentioned that he was unsure when he could swing a bat again. He also mentioned that he cannot entirely rule out the possibility of undergoing surgery.
“I don’t know when I’ll be able to play or even swing a bat again,” Stanton said via Yard Barker.
The Yankees have to deal with their issues without any choice. Everson Pereira and Jasson Dominguez are some of their options as designated hitters. However, they cannot really replace Giancarlo Stanton. The Yankees need other players to step up and save their team. Former Yankees slugger Alex Verdugo is still a free agent, and rumors are swirling around the slugger.
