With April three-quarters finished, the elite teams look incredible despite a long way to go until the MLB postseason in October. Some teams are beginning to awaken, ready to pounce on the competition, while other MLB teams continue to fall flat and drift towards irrelevancy. Either way, the season is starting to heat up, and Memorial Day weekend is a month away.
Here are the Power Rankings for all 30 MLB teams after week four.
Who are the top-ranking MLB teams after week 4 of action?
30. Colorado Rockies (Last week 30)

Another difficult week for the Rockies is over, and they continue their descent toward the bottom of the barrel. Both the Dodgers and the Nationals swept the Rockies, as the offense couldn’t get anything started, and Kris Bryant is dealing with chronic back issues, but isn’t ready to throw in the towel. Things are getting so bad in the “Mile High City” that the team fired hitting coach Hensley Muelens and replaced him with former team manager, Clint Hurdle, who led the Rockies to their first World Series appearance in 2007.
29. Chicago White Sox (Last week 29)

The White Sox continue to see their season go downhill faster than the stock market. Veteran left-handed pitcher Martin Perez went on the injured list with left elbow inflammation, while Luis Roberts Jr. continues to struggle, which hurts his trade value. The White Sox need to gut their roster and start over from scratch at this point in the MLB season.
28. Minnesota Twins (Last week 26)

The Twins are trending down after being swept by the Braves, but they managed to win their series against the Mets. Ryan Jeffers and Harrison Bader each had three hits against the Mets in game two of that series, while Joe Ryan gave up eight hits (including three home runs) in game three against the Braves. The Twins’ pitching needs to wake up and silence the opposition if they want to climb back up in the AL Central.
27. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last week 27)

The 2025 Pirates continue to struggle. Yes, the Pirates won a 3-1 series against the Nationals, but they were swept by the Guardians. In addition to a weak offense, the Pirates’ pitching staff is also hindered by injuries, as Tim Mayza is on the injured list due to a left shoulder lat muscle strain. To make matters worse, the Pirates don’t have an easy week ahead, as they face off against the Angels and Dodgers on the road.
26. Kansas City Royals (Last week 17)

The Royals had a brutal week getting swept by the Yankees and Tigers, respectively. Bobby Witt Jr. and the offense struggled, and the bullpen faced inconsistent performances and injuries. If the Royals’ offense can’t turn things around, they’ll have a very long and miserable few months ahead.
25. Atlanta Braves (Last week 28)

The Braves may have lost their series against the Blue Jays, but their offense began to emerge during their sweep of the Twins. Austin Riley hit two home runs and recorded five RBIs in game one against the Blue Jays. Matt Olson and Drake Baldwin both hit homers against the Twins in game three. Grant Holmes allowed only one run against the Twins in that same game. It’s nice to see the Braves slowly waking up and getting some heat on their bats, but they still have a long way to go to catch up to first place in the MLB standings.
24. Washington Nationals (Last week 25)

The Nationals struggled in their four-game series against the Pirates, but won their series against the struggling Rockies. Trevor Williams gave up three hits against the Pirates in game four, while Nathaniel Lowe had three hits in the game. Jake Irvin pitched seven scoreless innings in the team’s lone win against the Pirates, and Jake Irvin struck out nine Rockies’ batters in six-and-a-third innings in game two. The Nationals’ pitching is starting to emerge, but they also have a long way to go before they can consider being an MLB postseason contender.
23. St. Louis Cardinals (Last week 22)

The Cardinals started the week winning a 2-1 series against the Astros, but were swept by the Mets in a four-game series. Lars Nootbaar had three home runs against the Astros in game three. However, the Cardinals’ offense struggled to get hits going against the Mets’ pitching, going 22-for-129 (a 0.171 batting average). To make matters worse, the Cardinals were 4-for-27 with runners at scoring position. The Cardinals’ offense needs to get their bats hot as the MLB season continues.
22. Tampa Bay Rays (Last week 20)

It was not a good week for the Rays, as they lost both of their divisional series 1-2 against the Red Sox and Yankees, respectively. The Rays managed to demolish the Red Sox 16-1 in game one thanks to Kameron Misner’s two home runs and Shane Baz pitching six strong innings. However, the Rays were shut out in games two and four against the Yankees, as their offense had no answers against the Yankees’ pitching. The Rays have a tough road trip ahead of them with series against the Diamondbacks and Padres, respectively.
21. Miami Marlins (Last week 13)

A rough week for the Marlins, as they were swept by the Diamondbacks and lost a 1-2 series against the Phillies. Connor Gillispie played a good game three against the Phillies, striking out three batters in five innings, but struggled in game one against the D-Backs. Dane Myers and Liam Hicks hit home runs in an intense ninth inning against the Phillies in game two, but their efforts weren’t enough in the 10-11 loss. The Marlins must get a grasp on their pitching and hitting back on track, if they want to stay relevant in the NL East.
20. Baltimore Orioles (Last week 24)

The Orioles started the week well, with a 2-1 series win over the Guardians, but lost a 1-2 series against the Reds. Ramón Laureano came off the bench and hit two home runs to help the Orioles win 9-5 against the Reds in game two, but the Orioles were crushed 2-24 in game three, and the team allowed the most runs against them since 2007. That game highlighted the Orioles’ pitching struggles from Charlie Morton, who is currently 0-5 and allowed seven runs, seven hits, and four walks in two-and-a-third innings. The Orioles must address their pitching issues quickly.
19. Athletics (Last week 23)

The A’s started the week on a high note, sweeping the White Sox, but lost a 1-2 series against the Brewers. Tyler Soderstrom hit his ninth home run of the season in game three against the White Sox, and Luis Severino earned his first A’s win in game two against the Brewers, but the A’s struggled against the Brewers in games one and three. The A’s also lost Jeffrey Springs in the third inning of their 1-14 loss against the Brewers due to hamstring soreness. The A’s may be in last place in the AL West, but they have to step up on all fronts.
18. Houston Astros (Last week 21)

The Astros started the week with a rough 1-2 series loss against the Cardinals, but bounced back against the Padres in a 2-1 series win. Ronel Blanco allowed three runs, five hits, and three walks in five innings in game three against the Cardinals, rookie Cam Smith had two home runs and had four RBIs in game one against the Padres, and Isaac Paredes hit a tie-breaking RBI single in game two against the Padres. The Astros know how to compete with intense opponents and are a dangerous team to continue looking out for this MLB season.
17. Cincinnati Reds (Last week 16)

The Reds took a tough 1-2 divisional series loss against the Mariners, but beat out the Orioles in a 2-1 series win, and obliterated them in game three, 24-2. Noelvi Marte had seven RBIs and his first career grand slam in game three against the Orioles as the Reds scored their most runs since 1999. Meanwhile, Elly De La Cruz remains one of the best players on the Reds, leading the team with five home runs so far and has a batting average of 0.241. As long as the Reds’ offense remains hot, they have a chance to make some noise in the NL Central.
16. Los Angeles Angels (Last week 8)

The Angels took a stumble getting swept by the Rangers, but made up some ground defeating the Giants in a 2-1 series. Jack Kochanowicz gave up four runs on eight hits against the Rangers in game three, Tyler Anderson gave up three hits and struck out six batters in six innings in game one against the Giants, and Jo Adell hit a base-clearing walk-off double in game three against the Giants. Getting swept by the Rangers hurts, but rebounding against the Giants keeps the Angels afloat in the AL West.
15. Milwaukee Brewers (Last week 15)

The Brewers had a great week, winning both of their series against the Tigers and Athletics, respectively. Rhys Hoskins went three for five with a home run and four RBI against the A’s in game three, Quinn Priester earned his first win as a Brewer allowing one hit and four strikeouts in five innings in game two against the Tigers, and Freddy Peralta allowed seven hits in five shutout innings against the Athletics in game one. The Brewers’ pitching is starting to shine and must continue playing solid for a chance at an MLB postseason bid in October.
14. Boston Red Sox (Last week 19)

The Red Sox had a solid week, winning a 2-1 series against the Rays and winning two games against the White Sox. Alex Bregman hit two home runs, had four RBI, and was five-for-five in game two against the Rays. Trevor Story had two home runs, had six RBI, and was three-for-four against the White Sox in game one, and the Red Sox pitching had a strong game three against the Rays. The Red Sox are another dangerous offensive team to keep your eyes on, as the season continues.
13. Toronto Blue Jays (Last week 7)

The Blue Jays started the week well with a 2-1 series win over the Braves, but lost a tough 1-2 series against the Mariners. Kevin Gausman struck out six batters in six innings in game two against the Braves, Bowden Francis pitched six innings and earned his first win for the Blue Jays against the Mariners in game one, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his first home run of this MLB season in game three against the Braves. Despite the series loss against the Mariners, the Blue Jays’ pitching looked solid against the Braves. The Blue Jays will bounce back in the coming weeks.
12. Seattle Mariners (Last week 18)

The Mariners had a good week, winning their series against the Reds and Blue Jays, respectively. Randy Arozarena helped rally the Mariners against the Reds in game three with a game-tying home run. Cal Raleigh and Rowdy Tellez both had two home runs against the Blue Jays in game three. Luis Castillo may have allowed 10 hits in five innings in game three against the Blue Jays, but he earned the win and struck out five batters. The Mariners’ offense is heating up and needs to stay hot in the coming months.
11. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last week 14)

The Diamondbacks swept the Marlins, but lost a tough 1-2 series against the Cubs. Corbin Carroll hit a grand slam, driving in five runs to help the D-Backs dominate the Marlins 10-4 in game one. Shelby Miller pitched two scoreless innings, and Drey Jameson earned his first save in the 11th inning against the Cubs in game three. The Diamondbacks continue to be a good-hitting team despite being in fourth place, and are playing in arguably the most competitive division in the league, the NL West.
10. Cleveland Guardians (Last week 11)

The Guardians had a tough start to their week, losing a 1-2 series against the Orioles, but made up for it by sweeping the Pirates. Logan Allen looked sharp in six innings against the Orioles in game one, Bo Naylor had three hits and three RBI against the Pirates in game one, and Kyle Manzardo spoiled Paul Skenes’ bobblehead day with a home run in game two against the Pirates. Despite the rough series against the Orioles, the Guardians bounced back nicely against the struggling Pirates for the sweep.
9. Detroit Tigers (Last week 6)

The Tigers lost a tough 1-2 series against the Brewers, but bounced back in a 3-1 series victory over the Royals. Tarik Skubal struck out nine batters, but allowed four hits and no walks in seven shutout innings in game one against the Brewers. Riley Greene had three hits and two RBIs against the Royals in game one, and rookie Jackson Jobe pitched five solid innings against the Royals in game two. The Tigers had some pitching issues against the Brewers, but picked up some ground against the Royals despite losing the final game in 10 innings.
8. Philadelphia Phillies (Last week 10)

The Phillies split their series 2-2 against the Giants and won a 2-1 series against the Marlins. Zach Wheeler struck out 13 batters in game one against the Marlins, while Bryce Harper hit a two-run home run, and Kyle Schwarber hit a solo home run. Cristopher Sánchez struck out 12 in seven innings in game four against the Giants, and Trea Turner had four hits against the Marlins in a wild game two. Despite the series win against the Marlins, the Phillies placed Brandon Marsh on the injured list due to a strained right hamstring. The Phillies displayed some solid offense throughout the week and should continue improving as the MLB season continues.
7. Texas Rangers (Last week 9)

The Rangers started the week hot with a sweep against the Angels, but lost a tough 1-2 series against the Dodgers. Adolis García hit a walk-off home run against the Dodgers in game two, Tyler Mahle struck out nine batters in six solid innings against the Angels in game one, and Corey Seager and Jake Burger each had three hits against the Angels in game two. The Rangers’ pitching staff shone all week, but the offense struggled to get anything moving against the Dodgers. The Rangers hit the road in Northern California for two series against the Giants and A’s, respectively.
6. San Francisco Giants (Last week 2)

The Giants took a step back and had a tough week, splitting a 2-2 series with the Phillies, but lost a 1-2 series against the Angels. Jung Hoo Lee drove in two runs and helped the Giants beat the Phillies in game three, and Matt Chapman hit a two-run home run in game two against the Angels, and Logan Webb struck out 12 batters, but earned the loss in game one against the Angels by giving up four hits and two runs. It’s been a tough week for the Giants, but they need to bounce back at this early part of the MLB season, as competition in the NL West is wild.
5. Chicago Cubs (Last week 4)

Despite a tough 1-2 series loss against the Padres, the Cubs earned a nice 2-1 series win over the Diamondbacks. Nico Hoerner’s triple helped the Cubs overcome the Padres in 10 innings in game two, Carson Kelly homered twice in game one against the D-Backs, and Seiya Suzuki and Michael Busch hit consecutive home runs in game two against the D-Backs. The Cubs have been playing very good baseball offensively, and must continue playing well if they want to keep control of first place in the NL Central.
4. New York Yankees (Last week 12)

The Yankees had an incredible bounce-back week, sweeping the Royals and winning a 2-1 series against the Rays. Max Fried didn’t allow a hit in eight innings in game three against the Rays, Paul Goldschmidt had three strong hits against the Rays in game one, and Aaron Judge hit a tie-breaking home run to help the Yankees sweep the Royals in game three. The Yankees need to keep their offensive A-game rolling as the MLB season continues.
3. New York Mets (Last week 5)

The Mets took a 1-2 series loss against the Twins, but swept the Cardinals in a four-game series. Juan Soto had three RBIs in game four against the Cardinals, and hit his second home run of the season against the Twins in game one, Kodai Senga gave up three hits, but pitched a scoreless game against the Cardinals in game three, and Mark Vientos hit his first home run in game one against the Cardinals. The Mets had an impressive bounce-back series in their sweep against the Cardinals and look to continue building on that sweep moving forward.
2. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last week 3)

The Dodgers had an incredible week, sweeping the struggling Rockies and winning a 2-1 series against the Rangers. Mookie Betts hit a two-run home run, and Shohei Ohtani hit a solo home run in game one against the Rockies. The Dodgers’ bullpen stepped up and helped the team earn a 1-0 win over the Rangers in game three after Tyler Glasnow left the game with lower leg cramps. Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed five hits in seven scoreless innings in game one against the Rangers. The Dodgers are starting to get a strong rhythm going, and that spells trouble for the Padres and the rest of the NL West.
1. San Diego Padres (Last week 1)

The Padres remain the kings of not only the NL West, but all of baseball with the league’s best record so far, with a 2-1 series win over the Cubs, but lost a 1-2 series against the Astros. Fernando Tatis Jr. homered twice against the Cubs in game one, Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado drove in two runs in game three against the Cubs, and Tatis Jr. homered to help the Padres avoid getting swept by the Astros in game three. Tatis Jr. is arguably the best offensive hitter on the Padres and needs to continue playing competitively if the Padres want to hold on and win the NL West by the end of the MLB season.
