The Los Angeles Dodgers were last year’s champions. If they want to turn things around in the same fashion, they need to talk about free agency.
Recently, MLB insider Jim Bowden mentioned a potential target for the Dodgers. According to Bowden, the Dodgers should target the Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman.
Bregman, who signed a three-year, $120 million contract with the Red Sox, has opt-outs after the first two seasons. He could also make an appealing option for teams looking to fill their roster gaps.
Question Dodgers fans, would you be open to adding Alex Bregman to the squad next year? 👀@TravisRodgers | @DMarcoFarr1 | @Corporate_Greg | @bell_parker | @MarcasG

Though, his presence in Boston has stirred some controversy, especially with the decision to shift Rafael Devers to designated hitter upon Bregman’s arrival.
So far this season, Bregman has performed well. He’s boasting a .299 batting average with 11 home runs, 35 RBIs, and an OPS of .938.
Defensively, he has been effective, ranking positively in Outs Above Average. With his resume, two-time All-Star and World Series Champion, Bregman would certainly be a significant upgrade for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers may be in the market for an upgrade at third base, particularly as Max Muncy struggles with his performance. He’s hitting just .205 with a low OPS and seeing challenges on defense.
However, considering his history with the team, it remains unclear how Bregman’s potential move to L.A. would unfold.
Dodgers Might Trade Star Pitcher As Injured List Keeps Growing

The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again in deep water, especially with a tough season filled with pitching injuries. As of May 24, 14 pitchers from their 40-man roster are on the injured list, including big names like Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and Roki Sasaki.
With such a dire situation, the reigning champions may soon need to look outside the organization for some pitching reinforcements this summer.
One potential option that has come up is Tyler Anderson, a former Dodger who is now pitching for the Los Angeles Angels. Recently, Bleacher Report analyst Kerry Miller named Anderson as a likely trade candidate for the Angels.
Originally had Cade Povich on this play but had to pivot to Tyler Anderson with the Red Sox game getting postponed. The pivot to Tyler Anderson did not go well https://t.co/8wUHbC29tc

The team is struggling, having lost 20 of their last 28 games before facing the Dodgers, so selling at the trade deadline could be on the table for them.
Anderson has been performing decently, with a 3.60 ERA, and he’s in the final year of his three-year contract. If the Angels decide to tidy up their roster, he could be one of the more attractive pieces they put on the trading block.
If the Angels fall further out of the playoff race and the Dodgers continue to grapple with their pitching woes, who knows? We might just see Anderson back in Dodger blue again.
