The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly planning to pursue Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker.
There has been a lot said, written, and talked about what’s next for Tucker. From what we are hearing from MLB insider Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers are seeing the star outfielder.
While the Dodgers may not necessarily be the highest bidders for Tucker, they aim to remain competitive. Something we already saw during their previous involvement in the Juan Soto sweepstakes.

At 28 years old, Tucker is having a solid season with a batting line of .276/.387/.545, 10 home runs, 32 RBIs, and an OPS of .932. Spotrac estimates that he is projected to sign a lucrative contract worth around $500 million this winter.
Although the Dodgers are known for their willingness to spend significantly, it is uncertain how far they will go in their pursuit of Tucker.
The Dodgers’ interest in Tucker seems to parallel their approach with Soto. They engaged throughout the free agency process but refrained from entering any bidding wars.

Under Andrew Friedman’s leadership, the Dodgers have remained proactive, making aggressive moves despite winning the World Series last year.
Currently, the Dodgers have a strong roster, yet they lack depth in the outfield. Notably, they will lose outfielder Michael Conforto at the end of the 2025 season due to his one-year contract.
The Dodgers Might Make Sense Out Of The Cubs Drama

While Kyle Tucker to the Dodgers is an interesting idea, LA might have another shot coming soon.
The ongoing situation between Rafael Devers and the Boston Red Sox has become tricky after Alex Bregman’s acquisition. He will be taking over at third base. But Devers has expressed dissatisfaction with his position change, as he was moved to designated hitter.
Following Triston Casas’ injury, the Red Sox proposed transitioning Devers to first base. However, he was not enthusiastic about this change, emphasizing that the team “can’t expect me to play every position out there.”
We need to trade Rafael Devers right now, he clearly doesn’t care about this team

Despite the current drama, a trade request from Devers seems unlikely for now. However, if the situation deteriorates, a trade to the Dodgers could be a viable option.
The Dodgers have a track record of aggressive moves and could present a compelling offer for Devers. They have a wealth of prospects and the financial flexibility to absorb his lengthy contract, which runs through 2033 at $313 million.
As per the suggested trade, the Dodgers would acquire Devers while sending promising prospects such as Josue De Paula and Alex Freeland to Boston.
