The MLB trade deadline is around the corner. And teams like the Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers should not miss the chance to pick the right trades.
The Tigers are having a remarkable season and currently hold the best record in Major League Baseball at 40-21.
For their success in the season so far, the Tigers had solid pitching, particularly from Tarik Skubal. He recently tossed 16 straight scoreless innings and even pulled off a “Maddux” against the Guardians on May 25.
While things are looking bright, the Tigers do have one area they’re looking to improve, and that is the back of their bullpen.
Recently, ESPN insider Jeff Passan threw out a fascinating name in his June 3 deadline preview. Passan linked Bo Bichette to an exciting trade proposal for the Tigers as he heads for free agency this offseason.

Last season, there were whispers about the Blue Jays possibly trading Bichette and fellow star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. after their disappointing finish.

While Guerrero Jr. has since signed a massive 14-year, $500 million contract, Bichette is still waiting for his long-term deal.
Tigers Have A Lot To Correct Before Trade Deadline

The Detroit Tigers had an impressive month in May, picking up right where they left off in April.
After stunning everyone by winning the American League Wild Card Round against the Houston Astros, the Tigers have proven they’re not just a one-hit wonder.
They look like real contenders in the AL, and it’s exciting to see their progress.
That said, while there’s a lot to celebrate, the team also needs to work on some areas as we head into June.
Although the bullpen has been solid overall, it hit a few bumps in the road when it came to closing out games. Out of 13 save opportunities in May, the Tigers converted only eight.

That might raise a few alarm bells for a team aiming for the postseason. Manager A.J. Hinch is great at managing the bullpen, but it might be time to look for another reliable arm to aid their late-game efforts.
The Tigers’ offense has shown considerable improvement this year, but it’s been a little one-dimensional. While they can hit for both average and power, they haven’t really been a threat to advanced runners.
In fact, they ranked dead last in MLB with just six stolen bases in May. If the Tigers want to make a deep run in the playoffs, they’ll need to work on their base-running skills.
And maybe even find some speed to shake things up on the base paths.
