
The New York Yankees had a hectic shuffle of roles just before their final game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Yankees recently made major roster changes to their bullpen. They have placed right-hander Yerry De Los Santos on the 15-day injured list due to “elbow discomfort.”
Additionally, the Yanks have called up left-handed pitcher Jayvien Sandridge.
De Los Santos is in his first season with the Yankees, having previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates. This season, he has a 1.80 ERA in 20 innings over 14 games.

The Baltimore Orioles drafted Sandridge in 2018. He has been in the farm systems of various teams but is now making his MLB debut as the Yankees signed him to a major league contract.
This season, he has pitched for three teams, maintaining a 3.0 ERA across 12 innings in 10 games.

However, to make room for Sandridge on the 40-man roster, the Yankees have transferred infielder/outfielder Oswaldo Cabrera to the 60-day injured list. Cabrera is currently sidelined with a fractured left ankle,
Yankees Keep Offensive Struggles At Bay Against Dodgers

While the Yankees applied the last-minute quick fixes to the bullpen, the team lit up against the Dodgers. Center fielder Trent Grisham brought some much-needed excitement in the bottom of the second inning.
Grisham smashed a home run deep into right field after a brief rain delay. But the excitement didn’t stop there. Just moments later, first baseman Paul Goldschmidt joined in on the fun, launching a solo homer to left field.

Just like that, the Yankees had jumped to a 4-2 lead. This is exactly the boost the team has been seeking after struggling with offense during a tough six-game losing streak.
It included dropping an entire series to the Red Sox and three out of four against the Angels. Now, with this newfound momentum, the Pinstripes are looking to turn things around and finally snap that losing streak.
