New York Yankees superstar slugger Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been suspended one game following his actions on social media.
Per Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the league announced a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for Jazz Chisholm on Friday after violating the league’s social media policy.
Chisholm was ejected from Thursday’s road game against the Tampa Bay Rays for arguing a strike three call in the top of the seventh inning. Chisholm certainly had a point, though, as the pitch was well below the strike zone on television.
After being ejected, Chisholm took to X/Twitter and wrote, “Not even (expletive close).” The post has since been deleted, but you can view it below, though be warned that it contains language that is NSFW):

MLB’s policy prohibits players from using electronic devices during games. The social media policy also says players must refrain from “displaying or transmitting content that questions the impartiality of or otherwise denigrates a major league umpire.”
As Jazz Chisholm appealed the fine, he was eligible to play against the Rays on Friday. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, though the Pinstripes squeaked out a 1-0 victory to improve to 13-7 on the season.

The Yankees will try to secure the series win on Saturday with first pitch set for 4:10 p.m. EST. The reigning American League champions are one game up on the Toronto Blue Jays for first in the AL East.
Jazz Chisholm Looks To Rebound From Frustrating Start

The 27-year-old Chisholm is struggling over the first three weeks of the regular season, with a .160 batting average and an OPS of .685 over 20 games. Though he has six homers and 11 RBI, Chisholm has already struck out 28 times in just 75 at-bats.
But as a career .246 hitter, Chisholm is bound to get on a hot streak eventually. In the meantime, franchise star Aaron Judge appears to be more than happy to do the heavy lifting on offense.
