Philadelphia Phillies All-Star Nick Castellanos was seen exchanging words with a fan from the dugout following Friday night’s loss to the Cincinnati Reds.
The Phillies dropped the series opener to Cincinnati at Citizens Bank Park, with Jesús Luzardo allowing five earned runs in the loss. Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer led the way offensively with two RBI each in the victory.
Moments after the game ended, cameras caught an animated Nick Castellanos arguing with a fan seated behind the Phillies’ dugout. What exactly was said is open to interpretation:
Love to see players and fans jawing at each other don't we folks pic.twitter.com/K8wkOUzAwJ

Phillies team producer Jace Kaleikau responded to the viral video on X/Twitter, claiming that Castellanos was standing up for teammate Bryson Stott. Kaleikau claims that a fan was heckling Stott and “crossed multiple lines” during the incident:
I was right there and a drunk fan came all the way down by the dugout and was screaming at Stott for getting the last out. I would have been shocked if someone didn’t stand up for him. The fan crossed multiple lines, all while being like 5 feet away.

I was there. One drunk fan came down by the dugout and was screaming at Stott for getting the last out. Nick was simply standing up for his teammate. If there ever was a time where a fan went too far that warranted a response from a player, this was it.

The 33-year-old Castellanos went 1-for-5 at the plate in the loss to Cincinnati, fittingly hitting a home run on the same day he argued with the fan (if you know, you know). The Phillies will look to seven the series when they hit the field again at 4:05 p.m. this afternoon.
