Media impartiality in sports is not new, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are highlighted for being favored in the MLB. The franchise is widely popular for consistently making the playoffs and winning the World Series in 2024. However, they have a huge fan following thanks to their superstar Shohei Ohtani.
Fans and analysts consider the Japanese phenom the most famous baseball player with generational talent. Millions of fans gush over Ohtani and other stars on the team. The Boys in Blue are always in the limelight, irrespective of what they do. Likewise, many believe that the National media is always favoring the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Recently, radio host Evan Roberts spent a minute blasting the national media for favoring the Boys in Blue. Here’s what Roberts had to say.
“National media that takes turns saying everything about the Dodgers that makes you humanly sick. I’m sick of it. We get it, they’re great, they won the World Series. Everything is about the Dodgers. Don’t insult us by saying the only reason Citi Field was packed is because they played the Dodgers. It’s crap, I can sit here and bore you with evidence that it’s not true,” Roberts said.

Roberts continued to blast the media for constantly hyping Shohei Ohtani. He called them out for promoting Ohtani throwing at batting practice.
“Ohtani doesn’t even pitch, but he throws batting practice, and we freak out. The guy hasn’t pitched in a major league game in two years. Stop acting like he’s a unicorn. Go pitch, and then we’ll act like he’s a unicorn,” Roberts continued.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have received a lot of hate from several MLB fans and analysts. Yet, they have one of the largest fan bases in the league. They are at the top of the NL West with a strong 34-21 record. They are also huge favorites to win the World Series in 2025. Currently, the Dodgers hold the No. 4 spot in the week 9 MLB power rankings.
