The New York Yankees are riding a miserable five-game losing streak, and fans are unhappy with how things are going. The Boston Red Sox swept the Yankees and are now struggling to win against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Bronx Bombers have been scoreless in the last 21 innings, and their offense seems to be a huge issue. The only player that seems to be performing consistently is Aaron Judge. The team has scored only four runs in the last five games and has surrendered 13 in return.
It’s been a rough week, and radio host Sal Licata couldn’t help but criticize the Yankees for their struggles.
“This team is not better than it was a year ago. Fans coping with the Plan B and all that stuff, it’s a bunch of garbage. Look at the lineup, and look at it around Aaron Judge. I thought Dominguez would have a more impactful season, but that has not been the case. I thought Volpe would take a step up, and that has not been the case. Anthony Volpe has not been good enough. That is why this Yankee lineup is nowhere near as good as it was,” Licata said.

Every team has its slump, and the Yanks are probably dealing with the same. Despite their losing streak, they still remain at the top of the AL East division with a 42-30 record.

Despite their offensive woes, the Yanks are also struggling without key players on their pitching staff. Max Fried has picked up for Gerrit Cole’s absence, but Luis Gil’s injury has cost the team a lot this season.
Gil is still recovering and could be back after the All-Star break. Marcus Stroman is also preparing for a return and could be back on the mound soon. Once the Yanks get their reinforcements, they should be able to perform better.
The Yankees still have tough competition in the AL East and need to retain their top position. The Bronx Bombers are also rumored to add another slugger to their starting rotation.
