Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. called out his manager, Brian Snitker, for not benching Jarred Kelenic. Kelenic trotted around the bases after thinking he hit a home run. The same happened with Acuna in 2019, but Snitker benched him. Acuna was certainly upset as he took to social media, saying that if it had been him, he would have been benched.
Things didn’t go well after the slugger made that post, as he later deleted it. Several called out Acuna for his comment, while some supported him. Recently, the star slugger appeared in an interview at Truist Park, where he revealed his conversation with Snitker.
“Just apologized and asked for his forgiveness for what I posted, and for being a distraction. You know, just wanted to clear the air and move on,” Ronald Acuna Jr. said.
He mentioned that he commented in that frustrated moment. Acuna admitted he was wrong about his comment.
“No. That was just a moment of frustration for me, but thankfully I was able to apologize to Snit. I was in the wrong. I shouldn’t have done that. But thankfully I was able to apologize to Snit man-to-man, to his face. I was able to apologize to my teammates, and now we’re just turning the page and moving on,” Acuna continued.
