Shohei Ohtani’s 2025 season with the Dodgers has been a spectacle. The slugger leads the league in home runs, and he’s on pace to compete for another strong MVP season. Ohtani has continued to show success at the plate and save the Dodgers in crucial situations.
The All-Star is also preparing to pitch as he continues throwing off the mound. However, his recent stats have Dodgers fans worried. It turns out that Ohtani leads the team in strikeouts. The two-way star was struck out 73 times this season and fans shared their concern on social media.
Shohei Ohtani leads the team with 72 strikeouts and is tied for the 9th most in baseball.

He is all or nothing. Too eager to hit the long balls, but this is not new.

Shohei Ohtani To Have A Tough Competition For The NL MVP

Ohtani is not going to have an easy run this season, especially with several sluggers battling behind him. Pete Alonso and Pete-Crow Armstrong are some of the other favorites for the NL MVP.
Alonso has a better batting average and an on-base percentage than Ohtani. However, it’s too early to say. Ohtani is known for his consistency, and there’s plenty of time for MVP candidates to show their skills.
Shohei Ohtani is also expected to pitch soon. That said, he will have a stronger chance to win the NL MVP title this season. The Dodgers are at the top of the division but are still ranked at No. 4 in the week 10 MLB power rankings.
