Shota Imanaga and the Chicago Cubs were up against the Milwaukee Brewers when things fell apart for the pitcher. During the sixth inning, Imanaga experienced pain in the back of his leg, forcing him to exit the game. The pitcher tried to make a double play, but it ended badly, and now he hopes the consequences aren’t severe.
Imanaga cannot afford to be on the injured list, especially since the Cubs have a great run. He previously experienced some discomfort in his leg, and his latest injury is a tough blow.
What makes things worse is that Shota Imanaga is unsure about the situation. The pitcher talked about his injury, saying he has no clue about the damage.
“I’m at the point where I don’t know exactly what’s going on. We don’t know what the damage is. We’re going to have to see going into Monday,” Imanaga said through interpreter Edwin Stanberry.

Craig Counsell was obviously unhappy to see one of his best pitchers go down. Counsell reflected on Imanaga’s injury in a postseason interview. The skipper said that he’s never had any low-body muscle strains and will get some imaging done.
“We’ll probably do some imaging to see what’s going on. He’s never had any lower body muscle strains so he’s a little unsure of what the feeling means like. But he felt something for sure,” Counsell said.
