The New York Mets are having a bad run, and things are not getting better after their disappointing Subway series against the Yankees. The team lost its second straight series, as the Boston Red Sox secured a 2-0 win in Game 2.
Once again, the offense was a disaster, and they failed to score. Juan Soto, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso were unable to do much at the plate. Despite Clay Holmes’s strong outing, they were no match for the Red Sox.
Carlos Narvaez and Rafael Devers went deep with a solo home run. It was a bad day for Mets fans as their losing skid continued. The team lost five of their last six games, and the owner, Steve Cohen, had to step in.
Cohen took to social media to share a message to the team and the fanbase, hoping to give them some support.
“Welcome to the ups and downs of a baseball season. This too will pass . LGM,” Steve Cohen wrote.

The Mets are now one game behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East with a 29-20 record. From holding the best record in the league to giving up their division spot, it is a rough ride for the team and players.

New York Mets Need To Fix Their Offensive Woes

In the last three games, the team has scored only three runs and surrendered 11 to their opponents. The offense has shut down, and it’s time to get back on track. Soto’s performance has drawn huge criticism, and several have called him out for his slow start.
The All-Star has not had the perfect run, and recently, his failure to hustle has drawn a lot of attention. Fans were upset with Soto’s response for not hustling in Game 1 against the Red Sox. Apart from Soto, Pete Alonso has been having a slump.
Alonso’s performance in May has drastically dropped, and his defensive errors are pretty evident. Lindor is trying to get on base, but it’s not enough, and the rest of the hitters need to step up their game. The good news is that the Mets have plenty of time to rebound and get back in the race.
