The Texas Rangers are having a tough time getting back on track this season.
With a record of 31-35, they’re 5.5 games behind in the AL West and 4.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
While the addition of Jacob deGrom, Joc Pederson, and Jake Burger looked promising, the team’s offense has struggled significantly. And it left most of the heavy lifting to rookie Wyatt Langford.
On top of that, the Rangers are trying to navigate the tricky waters of the luxury tax. They’re currently just below a payroll of $235 million. That being said, they now have around $6 million to work with if they’re looking to make trades or pick up new players.
With such limited wiggle room, they’ve had to be strategic about their moves.
However, as per recent rumors, the Rangers are rumoured to trade Jon Gray and Adolis Garcia strategically.

As the trade deadline approaches, the Rangers have a few options on the table. One idea could be to try a “buy and sell” strategy for Gray or Garcia to save some cash. That way, they could bring in a bat like Marcell Ozuna to liven up the offense.
But for that to work, the team will need to stay competitive. After all, teams are more willing to part with valuable players if they see the Rangers as a legitimate playoff contender.
Rangers Adolis Garcia Ranks Among Top Hitters On Sale

While the Texas Rangers have a couple of issues to fix before the trade deadline, their players on the trade block are enticing.
As per Bleacher Report’s list of ‘Top 10 Hitters on the Summer MLB Trade Market’, Rangers’ Adolis Garcia stands at no. 9.
Despite his solid defensive performance, Garcia has seen a decline in his offensive output. With a batting line of .215/.259/.364 and just seven home runs this season.
His numbers are concerning, especially compared to his previous peak in 2023 when he hit 39 home runs during the Rangers’ championship run.
Although the Rangers value Garcia’s defensive contributions and are hesitant to trade a player under team control for another year.
His current struggles could mean he has a lower trade value, yet he remains an intriguing option for teams looking to add power. If they decide to proceed with trades, the Rangers may prioritize moving bats like Garcia before their better-performing pitchers.
