With ace Justin Steele sidelined for the entire season and All-Star Shota Imanaga missing most of this month due to a hamstring strain, the Cubs need help.
According to Newsweek’s Andrew Wright, Toronto Blue Jays veteran pitcher Kevin Gausman emerges as an ideal candidate to address the Cubs’ rotation woes.

The proposal comes at a time when he has been putting out impressive numbers.
Gausman has adapted his pitching style over the years to become a strike-throwing machine. He’s maintained an impressive ERA between 2.81 and 3.83 in every season since 2020.

Injuries Have Hampered The Cubs’ Rotation
The Cubs are sitting pretty at the top with a record of 33-21. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are in third place in the American League East, at 26-27.
The inconsistency in Toronto’s performance has sparked a lot of chatter about potential trades, especially as the trade deadline approaches. Another player at the center of these rumors is shortstop Bo Bichette, who is set to become a free agent soon.
The Blue Jays are also considering whether to trade one of their starting pitchers to scoop up some valuable prospects for the future.
