The New York Yankees are winning games without Marcus Stroman, but the vibes around their pitching staff haven’t exactly matched the team’s spot in the standings. The starting rotation has been solid, with Max Fried and Clarke Schmidt both posting ERAs under 3.
Carlos Rodon has had his ups and downs this season.
Now, with Ryan Yarbrough on the IL, the Yankees are turning to Stroman to help fix things. The 34-year-old has been called to start Sunday’s series finale against the Oakland A’s at Yankee Stadium. However, it seems fans are not happy with the call.

Notably, Stroman has been sidelined since April 11 due to left knee inflammation. His return comes after a poor rehab stint in the minors, where he posted a 6.97 ERA over three starts. This included a rough outing this past Tuesday with Double-A Somerset, where he recorded 10 hits and five earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings.
Bronx Fans Nervous Over Marcus Stroman’s Return

While some fans are hopeful that Stroman can give the Yankees rotation a boost despite off outings in the minor leagues, many others are bracing for the worst.

Before Marcus Stroman’s return, the Yankees will have a chance to seal the series against the Athletics on Saturday. After a brief slump, the Yanks are back to winning ways and will have an upper hand going into Game 2. Aaron Juge and Co. will have a home advantage, boasting a 25-16 record at Yankee Stadium. Meanwhile, the Athletics are 18-24 on the road. The Yanks are ranked fifth in the week 13 MLB power rankings.
