Justin Turner, the veteran infielder for the Chicago Cubs, stole the spotlight Wednesday night, not for a clutch hit or slick defensive play, but for a hilarious moment during a live broadcast.
It happened during the Cubs’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field. In the ninth inning, Turner stood in the dugout celebrating Seiya Suzuki’s sixth‑inning homer. As he jumped up and down, fans noticed that the 40-year-old was wearing a fake pair of testies attached visibly to his pants.
Marquee Sports Network’s broadcast team initially cheered him on, but they fell silent when they realized what viewers were seeing.

During that gap, you could hear only the crowd cheering and the crack of the bat in the next play.

Despite the dugout theatrics, let’s not overlook the actual game. The Cubs pulled off a strong outing against the Pirates. Their offense stayed hot, with Suzuki’s home run being the game’s highlight. As for Turner himself, his bat hasn’t been his strongest suit this season, but he has chipped in with clutch hits and veteran leadership.
Turner has been a part-time regular this season, hitting around .213 with one home run and 11 RBIs. He has played in roughly half the Cubs’ games, filling a utility role while bringing energy and experience to the clubhouse.
Fans will no doubt remember Turner’s “testies moment” just as much as his on-field contributions.
