The Dodgers-Padres rivalry just took a fiery turn, and this time, it wasn’t just the players in the middle of the drama. Manager Dave Roberts and Mike Schidt were involved in a nasty moment.
During Thursday night’s intense matchup, things got out of hand in the ninth inning after Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. was drilled on the hand by a pitch. What followed was pure chaos. Padres manager Mike Shildt stormed out to confront the umpires, visibly upset. Moments later, Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts came charging out of the dugout, and a new camera angle now shows Roberts clearly shoving Shildt before the benches cleared.

It didn’t take long for both dugouts to empty, with players, coaches, and umpires scrambling to keep the situation from spiraling further.
“Enough is Enough” – Mike Shildt Blasts Dave Roberts For Targeting Fernando Tatis Jr.

Tatis Jr. exited in pain, and Shildt, who recently dropped a F-bomb, wasted no time making his frustration known. Padres’ boss was ejected, along with Roberts and Padres reliever Robert Suarez, who later hit Shohei Ohtani with a pitch.

After the game, Shildt made it clear he was not going to stay silent.
“Whether intentional or not, enough is enough,” he said, referencing the number of times Tatis has been hit by Dodgers pitching recently.
Dave Roberts defended his reaction, saying, “I took it personal. I didn’t feel good about Tatis getting hit, especially with a rookie on the mound.”
Before the late-game fireworks, San Diego was in control. Xander Bogaerts powered the offense with four hits, including a second-inning homer. Rookie Ryan Bergert held the Dodgers scoreless through 4 2/3 innings. Jake Cronenworth added a key RBI double in the seventh, while Gavin Sheets added an RBI single. Iglesias drew a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 5-0 in the eighth. The Dodgers ended the game with three runs in the ninth.
