Clayton Kershaw may be 37, but he is still pulling out new tricks, and Saturday night was proof.
In the Dodgers’ 11-5 win over the San Francisco Giants, Kershaw stunned both fans and hitters with a 46 MPH eephus pitch to Wilmer Flores. It was the slowest pitch of Kershaw’s MLB career. The last time the veteran found the 46mph mark was back in 2016. Immediately after, Kershaw rolled a sharp 84 MPH slider, which left Flores frozen.

However, that wasn’t the only viral moment for Kershaw during the game. The veteran pitcher also wore a cap featuring a rainbow-colored team logo with “Gen 9:12–16” written on the front—an apparent reference to Genesis 9:12–16 from the Bible.
Clayton Kershaw Shines as Dodgers Take Series Lead

Kershaw was sharp throughout the outing. He tossed seven innings of three-hit ball, striking out five and walking none as Los Angeles handled their ‘true rivals,’ the Giants, with ease. Despite two garbage-time grand slams from San Francisco late in the game, the Dodgers were never really threatened.
Offensively, Shohei Ohtani led the charge with two home runs, while the Dodgers pounded out 11 runs on 13 hits. Kershaw exited with the game in full control, and his dominant performance moved L.A. back to the top of the NL West standings. With nearly 3,000 career strikeouts, Kershaw is inching closer to yet another major milestone.
