On April 7, the Los Angeles Dodgers met with President Donald Trump at the White House to celebrate their 2024 World Series championship. The Dodgers squad, Shohei Ohtani, Dave Roberts, and crew were present for the celebration. Sadly, World Series hero Freddie Freeman was unable to make it due to his ankle injury.
It’s a longstanding tradition that champions are invited to the White House. The Dodgers squad was happy to be a part of this historic moment. For Ohtani, it was his first visit to the White House after winning his first championship.
President Donald Trump highlighted Shohei Ohtani’s achievements, and what he said during the event will surprise everyone.
“He looks like a movie star. He shattered all of those records last year, think of it, all of them, and he did something more because he became the first-ever member of the 50-50 club. Hitting 54 home runs and 59 steals, an accomplishment unparalleled in 149 years of Major League Baseball. Think of that, that’s just incredible,” Donald Trump said.
