Freddie Freeman has been on and off but never fails to deliver. The Dodgers star was sidelined in the last game against his former team. The Boys in Blue had a decisive victory against the Atlanta Braves without Freeman on the squad.
Freeman has already missed Game 1 of the Tokyo Series due to a left rib discomfort. The All-Star came back stronger and smashed two home runs in just 12 at-bats. It turns out that Freeman might miss another game or two against the Atlanta Braves.
What Happened To Freddie Freeman?

Freeman suffered a bizarre accident after slipping in the shower before the Braves game. The sad part is that the All-Star injured his surgically repaired right ankle. Freeman struggled with his ankle last season but stepped up for the World Series and became the MVP.

The Dodgers would not have won without the help of their World Series hero. After his mishap in the shower, Freeman’s ankle has swollen. The slugger has gone for treatment as they wait for further results.

Surprisingly, Freeman is ready to play, but the Dodgers will take it slow on their top slugger. According to Dave Roberts, he’s swinging the bat well, but he’s not 100% in a good spot. Roberts is expected to keep him out for another game or two.
For now, the Dodgers can easily win against the Braves. The most important part is to have Freddie Freeman healthy. The Dodgers are one of the only few teams to remain undefeated this season. Missing out of Freeman or dropping a couple of games will not affect the team. The Dodgers secured the second spot in the MLB power rankings for 2025.
“He feels he could go out there and play, but just let him kind of recoup today and we’ll see how he is tomorrow. For the most part, he’s always kicking and screaming to play,” Roberts said via Fox Sports.
Dodgers fans will be relieved to know that Freddie Freeman’s injury is not so serious. The only concern is the swelling on his previously injured ankle. Freeman has already made a great start in 2025. He’s slashing .250/.250/1.083.
