Wilmer Flores Was Upset With The Padres Pitcher For Targeting Him

Stephen Kolek drilled Wilmer Flores with a 94-mph fastball. The slugger appeared to get hit on his forearm, and he started to yell at Kolek. Flores expressed his displeasure directly to Kolek on the mound. Thankfully, things didn’t escalate further, and Flores walked to first base.

Flores seemed to be telling Kolek, “It’s the fourth time.” Flores was not severely injured, and he continued to remain in the game. Fans had mixed reactions, as some called out Flores, and the others called out Kolek.

San Diego eventually won the game against the Giants with a 1-0 final score. After the Dodgers’ loss against the Mets, they moved one game behind the Dodgers for the top spot in the NL West.
The Giants dropped three games behind the top spot. The Padres are now holding a 34-24 record, while the Dodgers are sitting at 36-24. Jose Iglesias was the only player to record a sac fly as Jake Cronenworth reached home, giving the team a 1-0 lead. San Diego secured the win in the 10th inning after both teams went into extra innings.
The Padres have improved their MLB week 10 power rankings as they jumped from the 12th position to the seventh. On the other hand, the Giants dropped their ranking from the seventh spot to the ninth. The NL West remains a competitive division with three top teams fighting to secure the title. At present, San Diego and Los Angeles are on track to make the playoffs.
