The New York Yankees and Aaron Boone are coming off a 2-1 loss against the Seattle Mariners. The Yanks had a tough battle but failed to win in the end. Both teams were tied 1-1 and were forced to enter extra innings. The Mariners eventually won with J.P. Crawford’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning.
While it was a great game at T-Mobile Park, the Yankees’ skipper was ejected. Boone is not new to ejections, as he always steps up against umpires if he feels they are wrong. The Yankees manager has been ejected numerous times in his career.
Aaron Boone Was Ejected For Defending Jasson Dominguez

During the ninth inning, Jasson Dominguez took a strike three call that seemed out of the box. The slugger was disappointed as he stood at the plate and exchanged a few words with the home plate umpire, Mark Wegner.

As usual, Boone ran up to the plate to defend his boy. While Boone argued with Wegner face-to-face, he was ejected, and the Yankees went on to lose the game. It was Boone’s second ejection in 2025 and his 41st ejection as a manager. Getting tossed is not new for Boone as long as he stands up for his team and believes he’s doing it right.

Boone is pretty close to legendary player Pete Rose. Recently, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred removed Pete Rose’s lifetime suspension. Boone was happy to hear the news as he reflected on the situation.
“I have a long history with Pete and the family. This is a good thing for baseball and his family. At the end of the day, I always feel like the Hall of Fame’s a museum. I’ve always felt like he should be in there, while understanding the ban from baseball. I’m happy about it,” Aaron Boone said via The Sporting News.
The Yankees are at the top of the AL East with a 24-18 record. The Yanks are ranked at No. 7 in the MLB power rankings for week 7.
