Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora was ejected for the second consecutive night, and things are not going well for him. The team is having a bad run with a 40-40 record in the AL East. Cora argued with the umpires, and the umpires ejected him from the game before his team recorded another loss.
The incident occurred in the fifth inning with Jarren Duran on second base and no outs. Abraham Toro hit a ground ball to Angels shortstop Zach Neto. Duran attempted to advance to third, but the Angels caught the Red Sox star in a rundown and tagged him out. Meanwhile, Toro tried to take second base. However, the Angels also tagged him out in a quick sequence, creating a rare and chaotic double play.
The Red Sox Manager Was Ejected For His Argument Based On Luis Rengifo

Cora immediately emerged from the dugout to make is point. His argument was that Angels third baseman Luis Rengifo had obstructed Toro’s path to second base. Cora insisted that this interference should have resulted in an obstruction call, which would have kept Toro safe. However, after a conference among the umpiring crew, no obstruction was ruled.

Boston is fourth in the AL East division, and no matter how hard they try to climb, they still get pushed back. Cora and his team have a lot going on right now. They remain six games behind the New York Yankees at the top.
The Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays are playing better and have tough competition ahead. With Rafael Devers traded to the Giants and players like Alex Bregman placed on the IL, the Red Sox are falling behind. However, there is time for the team to make up for their loss.
