Kevin Gausman and the Toronto Blue Jays had a bad outing against the New York Yankees. The AL East rivals continue to battle for the top spot, but the Yankees got the better of Gausman. The Blue Jays lost with an 11-2 final score, and mainly because of Gausman.
The pitcher started out well, but the third inning turned out to be a huge disaster. After recording one out on the first pitch. Gausman tossed 52 pitches and tied the Blue Jays franchise record with Woody Williams.

Gausman surrendered six runs and walked five opponent hitters. It was a miserable start as the Yankees’ hitters took advantage of Kevin Gausman’s struggles. Blue Jays manager John Schneider pulled out Gausman after his bad start. To make things worse, he got ejected from the game and was forced to leave.
Why Was Kevin Gausman Ejected?

The home plate umpire, Chris Conroy, ejected Gausman after he expressed his frustration. The pitcher argued with the umpire for his poor ball-strike calls during the third inning. Gausman told Conroy that he was going to go back and watch his bad umpiring in the dugout.
The pitcher continued to criticize the umpire from the dugout. Gausman stated that Max Fried got more favorable calls from Conroy. It was a bad day for the pitcher and to top it all, he slipped in the dugout and fell down. A video of Kevin Gausman surfaced online where he appears to fall down from the steps.

The Blue Jays lost the double-header after surrendering five runs and scoring only one in Game 2. The umpire also ejected the Blue Jays manager after he backed Gausman’s case. Toronto is two games behind the .500 mark and has dropped to the fourth spot in the AL East. Gausman is not the only player who had a bad day. Red Sox star Jarren Duran was also annoyed with a fan’s disgusting comment.
