After a lengthy review by MLB officials, the officials stuck to the original call. Boone was furious as he emerged from the dugout and spat out his gum in frustration.

The Yankees manager confronted the umpire and demanded an explanation. This led to his ejection, and he was forced to leave.

LeMahiue was tossed for an entirely different reason. The slugger hit a ground ball at the top of the 10th to end the inning. LeMahiue started to jog past first base umpire Jeremie Rehak, and he was tossed for his actions.

It turns out that LeMahieu was also complaining about the controversial foul ball. Yankees fans were upset as they believed they could have won the game against the Red Sox.
