The Rays are coming off a strong victory against the Kansas City Royals. To make things better, they swept the Royals in their home stadium. Despite having issues with their own home stadium, the team has come a long way mid-season.
First baseman Yandy Diaz boldly declared his team the best in baseball at the moment. Diaz’s confidence comes on the heels of a dominant series that showcased the Rays’ offensive firepower, pitching depth, and overall performance. The slugger sent a strong warning to the rest of the MLB teams after their triumph.
“I think we are the best team in baseball right now, and hopefully we can keep it up and finish strong,” Diaz said via the Tampa Bay Times.

The Rays have climbed the ladder in the AL East division and are only half a game behind the New York Yankees. With a 46-35 record, they could easily topple the Bronx Bombers soon. The Rays have been playing better baseball than the Yankees of late.
They are ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays and have a strong chance to make the playoffs. However, they must continue their success. With the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles still behind the .500 mark, Yandy Diaz and his team are now a huge threat.
