The New York Yankees are a proud franchise, and their fan base is one of the proudest in baseball. It’s natural for any fan base to be proud, especially since they have won 27 championship titles. The franchise made several moves in the offseason after failing to sign Juan Soto.
Some fans were impressed and some were not happy. However, they seem to have finally moved on from Soto. Yet, when a player performs bad, they troll them on social media. At least, a part of the fanbase does.
Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay called out fans for overreacting about Devin Williams. Kay thinks it was unnecessary to judge the player after just a few games. Kay called out the fans who wanted to see Williams taken out of the closure role.
“What say you now? Overreaction maybe. After three games you wanted to take him out. I saw what you said on social media. You were done with him, do you feel dumb now? I really wonder about people in our business that say things for effect and say things in the emotional moment. Do you get embarrassed when proven wrong?” Kay asked.
Kay further said that he would never do such a thing, as he valued his reputation. He mentioned he would get embarrassed if he were wrong.

The Yanks are just one game away from sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays. The franchise had a great start to the series and is all set to turn to Carlos Carrasco as their starting pitcher. The Rays will have Shane Baz on the mound against Carrasco.
Carrasco holds a 2-1 record for the team with a 5.94 ERA. While he had a strong spring training run, he’s yet to settle down in the regular season. The veteran pitcher has 14 Ks in 16.2 innings pitched. Carrasco will play a crucial role until the other pitchers return.
000Gil’s return could be delayed after a minor setback. However, Clarke Schmidt is back, and Giancarlo Stanton will return soon to bolster the offense.
