The New York Yankees had a decent start to the regular season. After injuries have plagued the team, Aaron Boone was forced to make a few changes in the lineup. The lead-off hitter has already been changed twice in the lineup in just two games.
Boone decided to send Austin Wells, the first catcher in the franchise’s history, to hit from the lead-off position. Things went well for the slugger after he smashed a solo home run. Fans were doubtful of Boone’s move, but it worked out well. However, the Yankees manager made a huge change again by sending Paul Goldschmidt as the lead-off hitter in Game 2.
Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge will follow Goldy. Fans were unhappy with this move and took to social media to express their frustration. Here’s a look at some fan reactions from X.

Great idea put the slowest guy on the team at leading off.

Wells has been crushing it in leadoff spot all spring. So clearly the move is to put Goldschmidt there who *checks notes* has NEVER hit leadoff in his career. And no, I don’t care if it’s a LHP on the mound. pic.twitter.com/0ovl0uIzVO

New York Yankees Will Face Off Against Former Southpaw Nestor Cortes

Nestor Cortes Jr. will debut with the Brew Crew in Game 2. Cortes will go on the bump against his former teammates. The southpaw will have a great chance to take revenge and meet up with his old friends.
The Yankees lost game one of the World Series last year after Cortes surrendered a grand slam to Freddie Freeman. The Bronx Bombers are predicted to win, but several fans are unhappy with the lineup changes. Meanwhile, MLB fans called out the league for supporting the Dodgers in a controversial play.
