Carlos Rodon delivered one of his best performances of the season against the Cincinnati Reds. Rodon tossed six scoreless innings and struck out five opposing hitters. All the Yankees had to do was hold on to their 3-0 lead. However, they blew it right after Rodon left the mound in the seventh inning.
Jonathan Loaisiga surrendered a three-run double, sending the game into extra innings. Again, they blew a 4-3 lead after the bullpen failed to hold it down. The Reds scored five runs and won the game. Upset Yankees fans called out manager Aaron Boone for wasting Carlos Rodon’s stellar performance.

Carlos Rodon Drops His ERA Below 3.00
Rodon has emerged as one of the best pitchers for the Yankees in 2025. The southpaw dropped his ERA drastically to 2.92. He holds a 9-5 record and has 119 strikeouts in 101-plus innings pitched.
Rodon has showcased some ace-level pitching for the Bronx Bombers. It’s safe to say that without Carlos Rodon, the Yanks would not be on top of their division. The Yankees are fifth in their week 13 MLB power rankings.
Apart from Rodon, Max Fried has been the other strong pitcher for the Yankees. Without Luis Gil and Gerrit Cole, their pitching rotation has been hit.
