The New York Yankees are set to take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Opening Day. For years, fans have tuned into YES Network to watch the games locally. While the regular season will be broadcast on ESPN, YES Network is ideal for all in New York.
YES Network also broadcasts NBA games for the New York Nets, but this time, they could leave fans in the dark. For those who love YES Network, they might not be able to turn in for a long time. Just before Opening Day, news about YES Network and their dispute with Comcast broke out. Hence, watching games will be immediately affected by the local broadcast station.
Subscribers can witness a blackout since they have no deal, and sadly, it will start immediately.
“The Yankees’ YES Network is facing a blackout right at the start of the MLB season due to a dispute with Comcast, sources tell FOS. Without a deal, the channel will go dark for subscribers. The first Yankees game impacted would be Saturday’s home game against the Brewers,” Front Office Sports wrote.

Yankees Fans Need To Wait As YES Network And Comcast Approach A Resolution

The Bronx Bombers were plagued with injuries, and now fans cannot listen to their favorite announcers. It just keeps getting worse for the team, but they hope that the issue will be resolved soon. The Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, had to intervene and call for a resolution.

“Both broadcasting parties need to stay at the table and resolve this dispute without impacting fans. As your governor, I am prepared to take further action if this is not resolved,” Hochul said via Utica Phoenix.
Surprisingly, YES Network and Comcast previously had a dispute between 2015 and 2017. While they are expected to resolve the issue, it can indeed impact the 2025 season for subscribers. It’s going to take a while, and fans need to put up with the status and watch the game without their favorite announcers. Fans are also annoyed by ESPN’s coverage of MLB Opening Day.
