The New York Yankees may have picked up a big 11–5 win over the Seattle Mariners, but it’s what happened after Oswaldo Cabrera’s injury that had fans talking.
In the ninth inning, Cabrera suffered a brutal leg injury while sliding home on an Aaron Judge sacrifice fly. As he tried to avoid the tag, his ankle gave out, and he collapsed in clear pain. The scene turned serious fast as Cabrera had to be taken off the field in an ambulance, and both dugouts watched in silence.
But in a moment that went beyond baseball, the Seattle Mariners posted a simple tweet that meant everything:
Wishing the best for Oswaldo Cabrera 🙏

The game itself saw the Yankees’ offense explode. Trent Grisham crushed two homers, Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe each added one, and Aaron Judge stayed red-hot, going 2-for-3 with a double and lifting his average to a staggering .414. Clarke Schmidt gave the Yanks six solid innings, allowing just three runs.
New York broke things open with a six-run fifth inning, with contributions from all over the lineup. It was a strong bounce-back win, but the clubhouse mood was understandably somber after the loss of Cabrera, a fan favorite and spark plug on the field.
Julio Rodriguez, Jorge Polanco, and Cal Raleigh went deep for the Mariners, but it wasn’t enough to stop their fourth straight loss.
Still, on a night filled with homers, highlights, and playoff vibes, it was a tweet that stood out most, and Yankees fans won’t forget it anytime soon.
