The New York Yankees might be at the top of the AL East, but they still have several loopholes to fill. The Yanks have a strong offense, and it’s their pitching squad that has been hit the most. Yet, adding an extra bat or two is not going to hurt the team.
With the MLB trade deadline approaching, the Bronx Bombers are expected to acquire at least one player. The Yanks need pitching arms, but the latest rumors are directing them to an All-Star slugger. The Yanks are linked to a Chicago White Sox power-hitter despite Giancarlo Stanton being poised to return.
A report by MLB reporter Francys Romero claims that the Yanks will be interested in Luis Robert Jr. at the trade deadline.
“The Yankees are expected to be among teams interested in OF Luis Robert Jr. at the deadline,” Romero stated.

Adding Luis Robert Jr. to their lineup will certainly help them. However, they already have a roster full of top sluggers.

Even if the Yanks bring in Luis Robert Jr., making space on their lineup will be an issue. With their outfield already full, it’s hard to find a spot for Robert. Stanton’s return is already going to be a tough decision for the Yanks.
The club must make space for Stanton, and Ben Rice might need to give up his position. Stanton is a designated hitter, and Rice has been exceptional filling in for him. The outfield is full with Cody Bellinger, Aaron Judge, Jasson Domiguez, and Trent Grisham.
Aaron Boone might not part ways with a squad that’s already performing well. On the other hand, there’s no news about whether the Yankees are planning on trading any players to the White Sox. While there is still time for the trade deadline, it’s also worth noting that the Yanks will have tough competition for Robert.
Stanton is expected to return soon. He’s set to begin his minor league rehab assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots.
