Alex Pereira is usually not someone who engages in trash-talking. And while Magomed Ankalaev has constantly taken verbal shots, Pereira doesn’t seem to be bothered. Focusing on his return, ‘Poatan’ is looking to fine-tune some of his techniques. And when asked about Ankalaev’s big talks, the Brazilian fighter stated he knew exactly why the champion was provoking him.
As per Pereira, Ankalaev does not have a lot of popularity despite being the champion. Thus, he is using Pereira’s name to try to stay in the spotlight while being relevant. Thus, the former champion does not have any. Instead of falling for the promotional stunts, Pereira was more focused on making him unbeatable once again.
“He’s promoting himself by saying my name. No one knows he’s the champion, so when he says my name he appears a little. But I’m not responding to his provocations, because I know it’s just for promotion. I’ll respond when the time is right,” said Pereira.

Surely, Pereira has been the most dominant fighter in the UFC in recent times. Defending his title thrice last year, Pereira looked quite the invincible fighter. And now that he has been dethroned, ‘Poatan’ has announced his return date.
Alex Pereira Is Coming Back To Reclaim His Throne

Magomed Ankalaev recently claimed that Pereira is now done with fighting. But that does not seem to be true. In a recent statement, the former champion confirmed his return to action. Not only that, but ‘Poatan’ also mentioned the timeline for when the fans can expect to see him enter the octagon once again.
