Alexander Volkov seems really frustrated at Jon Jones and the UFC. With the heavyweight title still with Jones, there is no confirmed news of when we might expect a unification bout. This has happened mainly because Jones has been reluctant to fight Tom Aspinall until now. However, with Volkov looking to have his shot at the title, the UFC heavyweight has come up with a serious allegation against Jon Jones and the UFC.
In a recent statement, Volkov pointed out that the UFC prefers Jones due to his face value. Having ruled the heavyweight division for a long time, ‘Bones’ has become a legend. Thus, he generates an impressive amount of revenue. According to Volkov, this is what is keeping the UFC from allowing Jones to do whatever he wants to do. He further pointed out that this might be the only reason why Dana White and Co. have been reluctant to strip Jones of his title.
“Jon Jones generates a lot of money for the organization. From a financial standpoint, he’s good for business. Even with his current status, he brings attention,” Volkov told Red Corner MMA. He’s done, and is still doing, much more for the UFC than any of us,” said Volkov.
Alexander Volkov says he understands why the UFC hasn't stripped Jon Jones of his championship belt, even though he admits that from a purely sporting perspective, it would make sense.

Well, it looks like apart from Tom Aspinall, Volkov too, is really not impressed with the current situation. To further sum up his agitation, Volkov recently took a verbal shot at the UFC for allegedly favoring ‘Bones.’
Alexander Volkov Unhappy With The UFC

Alexander Volkov feels that the UFC is unnecessarily putting up with Jon Jones’ demands. The heavyweight fighter recently claimed that with the Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones fight getting delayed, Volkov is losing precious time to challenge for the title. He also noted that if it was any other active champion instead of Jones, Volkov would have gotten his shot at the heavyweight gold by now.

“But I can understand him. The UFC gives him this privilege, he feels like he is the master of the situation. Jon knows that he will be valuable to the UFC in any case. And he just takes advantage of it…” said Volkov.

"Of course I have a negative opinion about the delay of the Jones-Aspinall fight, because my chances to fight for the championship title are getting smaller, and time is running out.

Thus, with things getting overly complicated, it now remains to be seen how things pan out in the near future.
