The dissatisfaction is getting worse with each day. With the UFC delaying the announcement of Jon Jones’ next fight, a flurry of criticism is flooding the gates. The latest addition to the list is Alexander Volkov. Now, the scenario in the UFC heavyweight division has been pretty confusing. With Jones being the champion, he has refused to fight the interim champion Tom Aspinall for a long time now. Thus, with such uncertainty looming over the title unification, athletes like Volkov are feeling significantly deprived.
Speaking on the matter, Volkov expressed significant frustration over the situation. He stated that with each delay, his chances of making a case for the championship are diminishing. Lashing out at Jones, Volkov noted that if it were anyone other than ‘Bones,’ he would have had his title shot by now. The UFC heavyweight fighter further pointed out how the UFC gives Jones an undue privilege.
“But I can understand him. The UFC gives him this privilege, he feels like he is the master of the situation. Jon knows that he will be valuable to the UFC in any case. And he just takes advantage of it…” said Volkov.

"Of course I have a negative opinion about the delay of the Jones-Aspinall fight, because my chances to fight for the championship title are getting smaller, and time is running out.

And this was not all. Volkov also pointed out that it was due to the UFC’s ‘excessive loyalty’ towards Jones that made him behave this way. Meanwhile, Volkov is not the only one frustrated with the entire situation. Recently, Michael Bisping too, expressed his discontent.
Michael Bisping Calls For Jon Jones To Either Defend Or Vacate His Championship

Bisping had his share of feuds while he was in the UFC. However, now that he has retired, he wants to see the fair competition go on. Unfortunately, with Jones showing his reluctance to fight Tom Aspinall, Bisping does not seem happy. Speaking about the topic recently, Bisping pointed out how Jones was given an early opportunity to become the youngest UFC champion. And now, he is depriving others to get a shot at the title.

“Defend or vacate. You were given a shot as the youngest champ — now give others the same chance. For Jon to not want to give Tom an opportunity, where other people gave him an opportunity — he was the youngest champion in the sport, and he’s always talking about, Oh, there’s going to be younger guys coming along,” Bisping said in an interaction with Mike Bohn.
Thus, with things getting quite complicated, it now remains to be seen what happens next.
