The UFC has seen its fair share of bitter rivalries, with some fighters carrying deep grudges that never fade, like the ongoing tension between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, one rivalry once seen as intense appears to be shifting. Ahead of UFC Atlanta, Belal Muhammad surprised many by sending well wishes to Kamaru Usman, showing respect and support despite their competitive history.
Muhammad has a message for ‘Nigerian Nightmare’, showing both respect and ambition. He supported Usman, saying he’s rooting for him in his next fight. Despite Usman previously stating there’s nothing left for him in a matchup with Belal, Muhammad made it clear he still wants the challenge. He hopes Usman comes out victorious so they can eventually face off in the cage, hinting at unfinished business and his desire to test himself against a former champion.
“Usman, I’m cheering for you. I know you said there’s nothing there for you with me next, but I wanna see you win, and then I wanna see you in the cage,” he said.

Kamaru Usman Doesn’t Want To Fight Belal Muhammad

‘Nigerian Nightmare’ recently addressed the possibility of facing Muhammad and made it clear he’s not interested at the moment. According to the former UFC champ, the only reason he previously considered the matchup was because Muhammad held the title. Without the belt in the picture anymore, the fight loses its appeal. Usman questioned what value the fight has now, hinting that the bout doesn’t make sense for him unless there’s something significant on the table, like a major payday.
Ultimately, Dana White and the UFC will decide whether to settle this rivalry inside the Octagon or leave it unresolved. Fans are eager to see closure, but without the green light from the promotion, it might stay unresolved for years to come.
