UFC Mexico was a thrilling event filled with exciting fights and big moments. In the main event, Brandon Moreno secured his first UFC win in Mexico City, earning a dominant unanimous decision over Steve Erceg. Now, the Mexican fighter is setting his sights on a flyweight title rematch against Alexandre Pantoja.
Pantoja won the flyweight title by defeating Moreno at UFC 290 and has since defended it three times. His most recent defense came at UFC 310, where he submitted Kai Asakura in the second round. After that fight, the Brazilian champion was left without a clear next opponent—but now, Moreno has emerged as a contender.
Following his recent victory, Moreno expressed his desire for a title shot at Noche UFC against ‘The Cannibal.’ When asked about it in the post-fight press conference, the Mexican fighter said:
“I mean I think it’s it’s perfect i think it’s perfect for the promotion. Even for the UFC for the promotion you know like if you if they want to to get a pay-per-view event in Noche in September in Varkala I think I’m the the right choice.”

Pantoja further cemented his legacy as one of the greatest flyweights with his UFC 310 victory, submitting Kai Asakura in the second round. He also called out Demetrious Johnson, though Johnson prefers to stay retired. Having already defeated Brandon Moreno twice in the UFC, Pantoja seemed like the natural next opponent after Moreno’s recent win over Steve Erceg. However, the champion also expressed interest in a rematch with Deiveson Figueiredo. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Pantoja said:
