Is the Drake curse back?
Luck wasn’t on his side Saturday night, and it tok a hefty loss as a result.
The hip-hop artist and pop-culture icon placed a $275,000 bet on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington in Saturday night’s main event at T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. That money is now gone with the wind after Covington won a convincing unanimous decision.
Masvidal was a +255 underdog, while Covington was the favorite at -350. At those odds, Drake would’ve earned $701,250 if Masvidal pulled off the upset.
Covington took some time after the fight to roast Drake for his bet:
“Let’s talk about all the money Drake lost today, he needs to go back to selling those shitty albums to get back the money…Drake you suck at sports betting. Go.back to your shitty little albums of rapping.”
Covington entered UFC 272 coming off a championship loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 while Masvidal last fought at UFC 261and was knocked out by Usman.
