Reports say the incident happened on Water Street just after 6 pm. Merseyside Police said the car stopped, and a 53-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested as the driver. Ambulance crews took 27 people to the hospital right away. Twenty others were treated at the scene, and some went to hospitals on their own. Even a cyclist paramedic was hurt.
