The Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones saga might be coming to a satisfactory end after all. UFC fans have been rooting for the bout to happen ever since Aspinall won the interim heavyweight title. Surprisingly, the champion, Jon Jones, seemed uninterested in making the fight. Last year, Jones defended his title against Stipe Miocic and hinted at hanging up his gloves for good. This created significant frustration among the fans. But according to a recent announcement from Dana White, it looks like the match is on.
In a recent update, the UFC head honcho stated that the much-awaited bout is expected to happen this summer. However, the location and date are still being worked out. Now, that must be a huge sigh of relief for the fans. After all, they will finally be able to see the epic matchup between the two best UFC heavyweights.

This was, however, not the first time that Dana White had spoken about the bout. He previously, too, assured the fans that the match would happen in 2025. However, one more announcement came along with the Jones vs. Aspinall update—and that involved Alex Pereira.
Alex Pereira To Face Winner Of Jones vs. Aspinall

Alex Pereira has been a dominant champion. After raking up several wins in the light heavyweight category, Pereira expressed his wish to venture into the heavyweight division. He has even denied training with Jon Jones for the same reason. And guess what? Dana White might actually grant Pereira’s wish.

In his announcement, White stated that ‘Poatan’ might face the winner of the Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall fight. But before that, Pereira will need to win against Magomed Ankalaev in UFC 313.
Thus, it is evident that the UFC heavyweight division is getting a lot more interesting. It now remains to be seen how things pan out in the future.
