The UFC realm almost got Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier 3! Back in the days, Jones and Cormier had a heated rivalry. While the duo met twice, Cormier lost on both the occasions. However, with Jones testing positive with the steroid Turinabol, Cormier was handed the victory. And now, after all these years, the stage was set for the duo to run it back again. But this time, DC rejected the offer.
Cormier recently revealed that he was being offered a chance to coach opposite Jon Jones. The offer was given by a reality TV show named ‘ALF Reality’ in Thailand. However, according to the former champ champ, he is in no state to fight Jones. Although the offer did not include a fight, Cormier was not ready to spend a month in Thailand.
“I can’t do a month in Thailand, opposite side Jon Jones… Especially when I can’t fight that dude no more,” said Cormier.

Surely, Cormier has a point here. DC hung up his fighting gloves back in 2020. And it has been 5 years since he had his last fight against Stipe Miocic back in UFC 252. Meanwhile, opining on Jones’ future in the UFC, Cormier had an interesting theory to share.
Daniel Cormier Rejects $15m Payday Claims From Jon Jones

The UFC realm is waiting for the Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall fight to materialize. And as the UFC is in the process of making it official, a couple of months back, Jones allegedly had a bizarre claim. Reports suggested that ‘Bones’ had demanded a hefty payday of $15 million to fight Aspinall. And shedding light on the prospect, Cormier thinks it’s a bit too much.

“You think that Jon is worth paying $15 million for?… Only Conor would be worth paying $15 million. Conor had a $22 million gate when he pulled out of that fight with Michael Chandler on the pre-sale,” Cormier said in an episode of the ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’ podcast.
Thus, with the rivalry between Jones and Cormier still sparking, it remains to be seen what will happen next.
