Khabib Nurmagomedov has been one of the biggest names in the UFC. Taking the UFC by storm, the Dagestani fighter went undefeated in all the matches he played. Putting over the likes of a prime Conor McGregor, Nurmagomedov proved just how good he was inside the octagon. Unfortunately, after only 29 games, Nurmagomedov decided to hang up his gloves. And while this was a shocker back then, former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier delved deep into whether he had retired too early.
In a recent interaction, Cormier was asked if Nurmagomedov had retired early. And without a hint of doubt, he agreed. DC also stated that if he were fighting today, ‘The Eagle’ would have had great success. Cormier justified his thoughts by saying that Islam Makhachev is almost an ‘extension’ of how Nurmagomedov fought.
“Way too soon. I thought Khabib could have been fighting today, and there’s a chance. Because Islam is a bit of an extension of who he was. But to know them is to know that when his dad passed, it took a lot away from him,” said Cormier.

Cormier also stated that after Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s passing, his mother did not want Khabib to continue. This was when DC knew for sure that ‘The Eagle’ was done. Now, taking his sweet time away from fighting, Nurmagomedov recently debuted a new training facility in Sildi.
