
The tension between Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett is seemingly growing day by day. With Topuria now in the lightweight division, Pimblett is taking shots at him to ignite a feud. However, ‘El Matador’ too, is not falling behind. In a recent interaction with the media, Topuria threw some significant shades at Paddy Pimblett. He even mocked him for ‘throwing’ his own party!
Speaking on Pimblett, the former UFC featherweight champion opined that the fighter was purposefully trying to initiate a feud. This was because, according to Topuria, Pimblett knew he would benefit largely from the same. ‘El Matador’ also accused Pimblett of making up a self-made gimmick about him being a menacing fighter.

Surely, Topuria might have a point here. Setting up a feud with the next potential champion of the UFC lightweight division will be huge for Pimblett. Meanwhile, with Topuria mocking the Englishman, Pimblett recently accused the Spaniard of fleeing from the featherweight division.

Paddy Pimblett recently shared his opinion as to why he thinks Ilia Topuria moved up to lightweight. According to the Englishman, Topuria did not want to face Alexander Volkanovski in a rematch. He also opined that the Spanish fighter would not have been able to beat ‘Volk’ if the Aussie hadn’t been knocked out.

“I don’t think he beats Volk if Volk hadn’t been knocked out three months earlier. I think that’s one of the reasons why he moved to lightweight — because he didn’t want to have that rematch with Volk,” Pimblett opined.
